Inside man..
Starring Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, Clive Owen
Oneline of the Story: Bank Heist, hostage situation, negotiation, etc….
First thing you will notice is the Title Music, ”Chaiyya Chaiyya” from “Dil Se“ by A.R. Rahman. Though this has nothing to do with the movie as such, apart from an Sikh character being there in the movie. Overall it is a Great movie. “MUST WATCH” Keeps you engaged and guessing. It is well scripted and great cast. William Dafoe the guy who played Green Goblin in Spiderman is also there. I felt he was under utilized in this movie. Jodie Foster does a good job and so does Denzel (as always). Clive Owen with whom I was not so impressed too much with his previous Movies (King Arthur to be specific) (probably in Derailed he might have done a decent job) ends up stealing the show. He portrays his character aptly. Probably he needs to do more of this kind off roles in the future to fully utilize his potential.
There are some subtle indications of how things are in the US post 9/11. On the whole, if you like Crime / Thriller movies you will enjoy this movie.
Rainmaker..
Starring: Matt Damon, Danny Devito, Jon Voight, Claire Danes.
Oneline of the Story: Rookie lawyer sues big bad Insurance firm.
Based on John Grisham’s Novel of the same name. Like all Grisham’s novels, this one is also about Lawyers and courtroom drama. Though it’s an old movie (released in 1997), and even after watching it for a couple of times, still this movie holds your interest. Good to watch it after a long time. I am yet read the novel, as they say the novel should be better than the movie.
Matt Damon gives a fine performance. Francis Ford Coppola’s direction will captivate you.
The Deep end of the Ocean
Starring: Michelle Pfeifer, watch the movie just for her.
A really moving story line. You could say family drama, however once u watch the movie u get a real nice feeling. Though it’s an old movie and having watched it on more than one occasion, u might shed some tears.
The scene at the beginning, when Michelle Pfeifer breaks down crying totally got me. Nice movie, should watch it. You are not wasting your time on this one.
When a Stranger Calls.
Starring: A girl who looks nice. Nothing other than a pretty face.
Oneline of the Story: Duh !!!!
NO POINT in writing a review about this. Waste of Time, if u have too much time to kill like me, watch it. Otherwise, don’t even bother.
BGM is horrible, it sets up every scene to be a thriller which they are not and eventually u know nothing scary is going to happen. I am sure this is going to inspire the next Scary Movie series.
Xmen 3
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Captain Picard, The English Actor who is knighted and yes, Halle Berry.
Oneline of the Story: If u want an one line for this story, u clearly haven’t watched the prequels so don’t even waste your time with this one.
For a Xmen fan you can watch it. It’s got all the regular stuff that ardent followers of the series expect. Couple of Main characters get killed in this movie which gives a bad taste to the movie as such. {This is a personal opinion, hell all these are my personal opinions ;) }
Movie is ‘ok’. Nothing too big, nothing too small. Story line could have been better. Lots of unwanted stuff in this one.
